Compared to tile, carpet, wood, or sheet-suitable flooring, the finished concrete floor -whether stained, polished, sealed, or integrally colored generates little to no waste. Alan Comins, CEO of Green Polishing Solutions, has been one of the flooring industry’s leading innovators since he founded the company in 2001. His commitment to creating eye-catching yet practical flooring is enduring. Comins also has a longstanding commitment to delivering products as sustainably constructed and maintained as possible. Green Polishing Solutions reduces heating and cooling expenses, lowers electrical costs by increasing ambient light reflection, and facilitates LEED accreditation.
The research helps
With a background in finance, Comins has had the necessary business acumen to build two successful companies with an aggregate of 20 employees. He also relies on chemical research to achieve the right concrete floor for every Green Polishing Solutions client. This could mean anything from adjusting densifier content to achieve the perfect sheen for a loft residence, or adding special layers of sealers to strengthen the floor of an auto dealership. Before launching his flooring businesses, Comins worked as a licensed CPA in Los Angeles with many clients. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Business Economics and grew up in the San Fernando Valley, where he still lives and works.
