Restyle, revitalize. Green Polishing Solutions revitalized old terrazzo flooring, transforming it into a contemporary style with an elegant decorative finish. We collaborated with the client and a designer to determine the desired aesthetic for the high-profile lobby of this Sherman Oaks medical building, creating custom color samples featuring green and blue rock and glass, with the latter incorporating double-sided mirrors. We demolished the existing concrete, ground the floor, applied a two-part epoxy with sand broadcast, and then poured out 1.5 inches of concrete with the chosen rock and glass mix. We then polished with a series of grinders, each with nine diamonds, and finished with lithium-based sealers. The result? A rich, beautiful new terrazzo was, by all reports, a pleasant surprise for patients and medical professionals entering the building.
